Conservation & Preservation

Gerry was constantly remaking, remoulding, repainting, replastering to make sure that his garden looked as incredible as it did. Now that Gerry is no longer with us we are working with a conservation team to try and develop the best ways of preserving the garden so that people will be able to enjoy it for years to come.

Gardening

Gerry called himself as gardener, rather than an artist and what remains is his canal-side garden. Our chief gardener Io Worthington is working in collaboration with some more of our advisors including Yoni Carnice as well as Colin David Stewart and Jonny Bruce to devise ways of continuing Gerry’s legacy as a gardener with imaginative planting based on what Gerry was drawn to as well as bringing in aspects of his Irish heritage and love of royal gardens such as Hampton Court which he claimed inspired his garden. We are eternally grateful to our garden volunteers who help support Io in her important upkeep of the garden. If you would like to join out Gardening Volunteer group please email Io here.
